Coaching for Interpreters and Interpreting Students
“Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
- As stated in the International Coaching Federation’s code of ethics.
My name is Rob Balaam, and I help interpreters realize their personal and professional dreams through coaching.
As a nationally certified sign language interpreter (CI and CT) of 20 years, I understand that there is nothing else quite like the work that we do.
The responsibility of breaking down linguistic and communicative barriers is an enormous one, and the feeling of flow we experience in those moments can be exhilarating. I also know that we can get lost understanding what success looks like for ourselves. Sometimes we need support in clarifying just what it is we want in our lives both at home and at work.
As a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), I can help you do this.
My goal is to assist you in recognizing and pursuing your own goals.
Reconnecting to what interpreters do, why we do it, and where we want to go with it is a powerful way to move forward. Working with a coach is the best way to develop a road map to success for your life and career.
Working with a Coach:
Develops confidence and self-awareness.
Teaches you to lean into change and adversity knowing you will come out stronger.
Helps you navigate personal and professional choices.
I offer free 30 minute initial sessions!
